Qualified Students' Education Possibly Halted by Deficit
As the summer approaches, the state deficit continues to threaten CSU Channel Islands and its students. The Governor's revised budget still impacts student access by turning away qualified students and eroding the quality of education for those students already enrolled. Like all Californians, the CSU is facing increased costs in energy and health care. Without other resources to cover these costs, they have to come from somewhere - the result will be fewer classes, lower quality. The CSU urges the legislature to recognize the return on investments in higher education by resisting further budget cuts and making higher education a fiscal priority!
